If you’ve seen face taping popping up online and wondered what on earth it actually does, this workshop is a lovely place to start.

Face taping uses gentle kinesiology tape to encourage areas of the face where we habitually hold tension to relax. It’s less about “taping wrinkles flat” and more about becoming aware of the way we use our facial muscles, helping the face soften and switch off.

We’ll begin with a relaxing facial massage before moving into guided face-taping techniques, including different applications you can practise and use at home. We’ll also explore No-Tox patches and simple ways to support a more relaxed, rested-looking face.

No previous face yoga or face-taping experience is needed. Everything will be provided, and the session is designed to be easy, practical and completely beginner-friendly.

When I say better movement, I don’t mean constantly lifting and contracting your forehead.

I mean intentional movement.

Massage, lifting, stretching and actually touching the area can help release tension and improve your awareness of what your forehead is doing.

Trying to keep your forehead relaxed doesn’t mean treating it like a no-go zone because you’re scared that moving or touching it will create more lines.

I’ve loved teaching gua sha in partnership with @wildscottishsauna this summer, and this has become one of my favourite techniques.

By the end of your sauna, your skin has enough natural moisture to give your gua sha plenty of glide, so there’s no oil needed. At home, simply add a little facial or body oil and you can recreate the same movement.

We often carry tension in our upper traps without even realising it. Long hours at a desk, driving, looking down at our phones, carrying children, stress and even jaw clenching can all leave this area feeling tight.

Last week, one lovely lady told me she’d had a sore neck for weeks and, after trying this technique, she felt she could turn her head much more comfortably.

Give it a try and let me know how it feels.

I used to think face yoga looked ridiculous.

Honestly, I couldn’t understand why anyone would do it.

Then I tried it.

And while it still looks a bit ridiculous, I can’t deny how good my face feels afterwards!

If you’ve got facial cups, don’t skip the baby one.

This is one of my favourite ways to use it.

I gently glide the cup from the base of the nasolabial fold towards the side of the nose, helping to encourage circulation, release tension and support lymphatic drainage in the area.

An added bonus? It can feel incredibly soothing around the sinuses too, especially if you’re feeling a little congested.

I usually spend around 15 to 30 seconds on each side, moving slowly and always using plenty of oil so the cup glides comfortably across the skin.

This is a move I come back to regularly, around 3 to 4 times a week, because it always feels like an instant refresh.

I just don’t believe every concern needs to end with an appointment.

Sometimes we want to soften tension.
Sometimes we want to reconnect with our face.
Sometimes we want rituals that feel calming, enjoyable and good for our skin.

Not everything has to be all or nothing.

And that’s where face yoga, Gua Sha, cupping and taping found a place in my life.

No judgement.
No extremes.
